Meet the Pediatric Dentists

Dr. Judy Gillard, DDS

Dr. Judy Gillard is a true California native born and raised in California. From the very beginning, Dr. Judy knew she was destined to be working with children. Dr. Judy has always enjoyed being around children and has the patience and outstanding skills to create the most comfortable and enjoyable dental experience for all her patients. She especially loves taking the time to care for and comfort her patients so that “visiting the dentist” is a rewarding, informative, and all-around-fun experience. Dr. Judy also enjoys helping younger anxious patients and enjoys transforming them into kids who are happy to see their dentist again and again. Dr. Judy’s primary goal is to make each dental visit positive and fun thus making dental appointments pleasant and relaxing for both patients and parents. She prides herself in educating and helping both children and parents in our community toward a lifetime of excellent dental health.

Dr. Judy’s pediatric dentistry education has been truly exceptional. Dr. Judy graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.S. degree in Cell and Developmental Biology. She next attended the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for her dental school training where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. While in dental school she was very active within the dental community and with her university. Dr. Judy volunteered frequently to give back to her community by providing dental services to underserved areas within the Bay Area. During her dental school education, Dr. Judy strengthened her commitment to pursuing a career with children and was the recipient of the first-ever Pediatric Dental Clerkship Coordinator Position. Dr. Judy was also a recipient of the prestigious National Board Scholarship for her academic excellence in dental school.

At the completion of her dental school, Dr. Judy was accepted to and completed an additional two-year dental specialty program in Pediatric Dentistry at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Judy’s pediatric dental residency is well known for its emphasis on a clinically oriented curriculum. SAs a resident of this program, she gained considerable experience working with children and was exposed to all facets of pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Judy is currently an active member of multiple dental societies, including, the ADA, CDA, OCDS, AAPD, and CPDS, which enables her to stay active and involved in the dental community and at the leading edge of her field.

Dr. Judy is very excited to be part of the team at Newport Orthodontics & Children’s Dentistry and is looking forward to making your dental visit fun and comfortable while helping you achieve a healthy smile that is so important for your “Best Smile Ever!”

Dr. Jessica Manske, DDS

Dr. Jessica Manske is a Chicago native who fell in love with the California sunshine while completing her pediatric dental residency at the University of Southern California. Before settling here, she experienced an impressive academic career. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame. She also earned cum laude honors at Marquette University School of Dentistry. She was awarded several dental academic scholarships, stayed active with the research study club, academic study clubs, and participated in many volunteer events including dental screenings for children. She then went on to pursue a General Practice Residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and then decided to stay in California after completing her rigorous pediatric residency at USC.

Dr. Jessica discovered during her dental training that her energetic personality helped her connect with the children under her care. She went on to pursue supplementary education in pediatric dentistry and completed the rigorous training program at the University of Southern California. There, she gained strong clinical and academic skills in pediatric dentistry to add to the passion she feels for making each child's dental experience a positive one. She strives to recognize the individuality of her patients and she wants to make every dental visit unique and fun for each child.

Dr. Jessica is a member of the ADA, CDA, LACDS, AAPD, and CSPD, and she attends many continuing education events to stay current in her field. She is a Board-Certified member with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

In addition to having fun at the office, Dr. Jessica enjoys movies, yoga, travel, and taking care of her little dog. She is happy and proud to join the team at Newport Orthodontics and Children's Dentistry and wants to help your loved ones take care of and achieve their "Best Smile Ever!"
