Dr. Mikaeya Kalantari was born and raised in the Kansas City area. She attended Truman State University, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in biology and discovered her desire to become a dentist. After that, she attended the University of Missouri–Kansas City Dental School to obtain her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Kalantari received the prestigious Dr. Iwersen award for her achievements in the specialty of pediatric dentistry.
Because of her love for the field of pediatric dentistry, Dr. Kalantari made the decision to advance her education and attend a postgraduate residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. After graduating from her residency, she accepted a position as staff dentist and supervising dentist for the residency program at Children’s Mercy. During her three years there, Dr. Kalantari worked closely with special needs patients and frequently practiced dentistry in the operating room setting.
She enjoyed the last couple of years fulfilling the dental needs of children in the Kansas City area, and gearing up for her big move to California. Now that Dr. Kalantari and her family moved, she is excited to be able to serve the needs of the children of Orange County at Newport Orthodontics & Children’s Dentistry.
In her free time, Dr. Kalantari enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, and traveling. She and her husband, Dr. Arshia Kalantari (a general dentist), have young twin daughters who make sure to keep their hands and hearts always full!
